Although the name Double Vision may be new, it's members, Gordon Giltrap and Raymond Burley are both well known as solo performers; Gordon for composing and performing on steel string guitar, Raymond as an arranger and classical guitarist.

Double Vision is a unique fusion of two genres that has grown out of their many years experience.

The first weekend of Jan 2007 was a special event for Gordon and Ray, as they were filming for a dvd.
Mike and I joined them in the 12th century church of St Helen's in Stickford, Lincolnshire for 3 days of filming.

I took dozens of photos, some of which have been used for the cover of the finished article.

The UK's Only Acoustic Guitar Magazine Acoustic Magazine
features Double Vision:

Gordon has written a series of articles entitled "Gordon Giltrap's Double Vision " for Acoustic Magazine, all about the duo and their music. So, if you would like to know more about Gordon's writing and the subsequent arrangements for two guitars by Raymond then this will be the magazine to get. Each issue has the notation and tab for one of Double Vision's pieces and uses my photographs.

This is an excellent magazine, dedicated solely to acoustic guitars and associated stringed & fretted instruments, which I thoroughly recommend.

Gordon's contributions will run from Issue 10 through to and including Issue 16.

Issue 10 went on sale 26th May and, being a bi-monthly title, each subsequent onsale date will be approx 2 months hence.

Also in the latest issue, no 13 ( Dec - Jan ) Raymond Burley has a new column, giving tips for players. Aimed mainly at classical players, this first article covers topics such as posture, footstools, right arm placement and hand position which I imagine would be equally useful for any guitarist.

Steve Marsh wrote a review of the "Double Vision" CD
in the Dec 2005 edition of Classical Guitar Magazine and reported :

"This is a recording to savour and will surely satisfy classical guitarists and folk guitarists alike".

"When reviewing two players of this standard it seems almost an insult to state how well they perform, but there have been fusions of top musicians before which have simply not worked for some reason or another, but I’m happy to report that Burley and Giltrap gel so well in this enterprise that it would seem they had been playing together much longer than just these few years.
