DVD FILMING JAN 2007
The first weekend of Jan 2007 was a
special event for Gordon and Ray, as they were filming for a DVD.
Mike and I joined them in the 12th century church of St Helen's in
Stickford, Lincolnshire for 3 days of filming.
The weather was cold and grey, and inside the church, despite some
heating it was extremely cold, to the point that you could see peoples
breath. After starting filming in these temperatures we all doubted that
Gordon and Ray would be able to continue, but they battled on bravely
for the first evening. The next day, emergency heating in the form of a
bank of portable gas heaters was brought in, enabling the shoot to go
ahead.
Harold Houldershaw ( cameraman for Gordon's Symphony Hall concert ) did a great job with lighting in the lovely old church, and 5 cameras were used to give a good mix of wide shots and extreme closeups.
Filming took the best part of 3 days, and the resulting footage now been edited and the whole thing packaged for release shortly. There is also some bonus footage included that I shot at an earlier Double Vision gig in Fulston Manor Sittingbourne.
Despite the cold, everyone enjoyed the weekend and was very happy with the way it went.
During the shoot I took dozens of photos, some of which have been used for the cover of the finished article.
