Hitchin Folk Club 16th April 2006

Hitchin Folk Club won a BBC award in 2005 for Best Folk Club. This award is richly deserved, and Mike and I make the 2 hour journey to the club as often as circumstances allow. Maureen and Keiron programme some of the best names on the folk scene, and Sunday was no exception. Brian and Cathryn gave their usual polished performance. The latest additions to the set list have settled in well and we overheard many people say how much they enjoyed the evening.

Cathryn and Brian were ably supported by a performance from two well known Hitchin folk club characters, Keith Pearson and Tim Jellis.

Mike and I have known Keith for around 27 years, and we actually met at one of his gigs down in Kent where he lived at the time. This story, and the fact that Keith himself was to be married the following week constituted a perfect introduction by Cathryn to their song "Wedding Vows" which was dedicated to Keith, Liz, Mike and myself.
